Energizer 8AA double Barrel

Hi guys,

Found this bad boy in the garage. But I would like to get more candles out of it. I THINK this is a 6v bulb not sure though but thats my guess. Anywho does anyone have a decent LED mod for this? Being that the head is plastic I didn't want to go too big since I cant dissipate the heat.

Seems like there is enough room in here to put a controller chip just nothing to push the heat to the body.

I could not find any posts for mods on that light, but it is certainly an interesting one - perhaps almost a collectable.

Most likely you can take parts that are "generic" - such as a heat sink / heat spreader and "file to fit".

If you are willing to consistently use Li enhanced AAs (such as the energizer ones), you could even put a Lumileds Lux V in there with just a very small resistor - maybe 5 ohms. That should be enough to keep the heat management challenge less severe.

I have to admit though that if I had one of those, I might just "collection it" or sell it to a collector - use the $s to start with something more easily modified.

yeah I did the mag light ones before, if the head on this were metal i'd be in business..

Yeah I like this light a lot thanks for looking, found a 4AA mod I could do that I suppose but it uses dummy cells
