Look in your local walmart, walgreens and CVS. They all carry, at least here they do, the white topped duracell precharged NiMH. I can't remember where, but these were supposed to be repackaged eneloops.

(sigh.) You've been here since ~2003?

Well, anyways - here, we've been totally turned off to them since the whole 2500-scandal, which not only covered Energizers - but many other manufacturers as well.

Just go for ANY LSD-type cells. Doesn't matter, they're all better than those damn Energizers.

You don't see these on display anywhere?

I have bought lots of them from Fry's, since they appear to be exactly like eneloops:

I have some 2450's and they seem to hold up better then the notorious 2500's which were crap.

I still have a bunch of the Energizer 2300s which are 3 years old and still deliver 2000 plus. I have 5 year old 1850 which still deliver 1700 plus. I have thrown or given away all of my 2500 as I just ran out of patience messing with them. Life is to short, buy Sanyo Eneloops or Rayovac Hybrids and be happy.

I've seen some NiMH Energizer rechargeables with flat (not shiny) labeling. The capacity was 2000, or 2050, if I remember correctly.

The rebadged Duracells with white tops were sold at Walgreens. Kodack(spell?) rechargeables are sold at Walmart. The Eneloop brand I have seen at HH Gregg.

All of these are low self dicharger batteries and considered some of if not the best kind to use.
