Energizer Waterproof WeatherReady WRWP21E

I have my eyes set on an Energizer Waterproof WeatherReady flashlight. It is mostly read with a GITD push button switch. It runs on AA batteries and is LED. For some reason; it caught my eye, as do many other Energizer flashlights. I am beginning to realize that something is Chinese made, doesn't exactly mean it is automatically garbage. I told my wife that I want it from her for Christmas. Anyone have experience with it?

Never mind. I bought one today. My wife and I had an argument. You see; Radio Shack has Mini Maglites on clearance for <$5. I wanted to buy one. I wanted to get it for my physician as he does plenty of good for my health. It has a Xenon lamp (which I would have bought several more.) I would have also ordered a pocket clip so he could clip it to his coat pocket. Xenon lamps give off a light that is VERY similar to sunlight. This is perfect for a doctor because of it gives wonderful color retention of flesh. My wife raised such a fuss and ran out of the store. Needless to say; I was humiliated and also left the store.

After plenty of arguing in the car I told her that I did not want her to get me the aforementoned Energizer flashlight because I am getting it for myself whether she likes it or not. I bought it and that was the end of it. I haven't had the chance to enjoy it.

It has 11 lumens and that number is special for me and her.

By the way; we have since made up earlier tonight. She is in the medical field and told me that a doctor cannot receive gifts from his/her patients. I was going to get around that by anonymously mailing it to him. Is that even true that a doctor cannot receive gifts from patients.

We can receive gifts if they're under a reasonable value. Most would say $50.

It's nice of you to think of that for your doctor. I know I'd appreciate it.

I dig that Weatheready lantern that has the weather radio built into it; it's obviously not flashaholic quality, and it's not cheap, but it's nice to know that Average Joe has that option, or is at least made to think about it, at his local store.

Best not to involve the other half in flashlight purchases if she's not interested. You could get ~$5 from recycling bottles/cans, she wouldn't need to know about that..

It's nice of you to think of that for your doctor. I know I'd appreciate it.

I ended up getting one for him and he greatly appreciated it. He told me that the bulbs for his Welch Allyn lights cost a fortune. He has truly done plenty for me health wise. I went on to tell him of how he can get Mini Maglite replacement bulbs for it at Lowes for ~$1.xx plus tax. I hope he will be able to use it in his medical duties.

I ended up buying two more of those Mini Maglites. I took one and stored the other. My wife somewhat also has an interest in flashlights, but she never owned one until she met me. She remembers her dad (who was a genius when it came to the trades) having some. But now; she even edcs flashlights. In her backpack (large purse) she has a Pelican 1900 and a Mini Maglite AAA LED. Yesterday; her LED Mini Maglite started acting up, so I gave her one of the Mini Maglites I was going to store. She also has the 98 Cent Rayovac 2D flashlight I got her next to our bed. We tend to heavily romanticise about how wonderful the 1990s were, so that is why I got her that flashlight as it closely resembles the flashlights from that time. I put a high quality KPR102 bulb with Rayovac Industrial Alkalines in there and it works wonderfully. I think she gets a little irritated about my hobby but she deeply realizes the need for flashlights. I fixed her 2 AAA LED Maglite and she actually carried it in her jeans pocket today while we went shopping.

I do agree about th Weatherband receiver in that Weatheready flashlight and I think that there should be more like that.
