Epoxy E-can to E-screw

Is it required to use Arctic Alumina to fill up the E-can and bond the E-screw? Are other, more readily available epoxy products suitable?
Would RTV work or is it too elastic when cured?

Anything that is electricly non-conductive should be OK. I think RTV should be fine, isn't that what Wayne uses to fill his sandwiches?

RTV compounds generally release Acetic acid in the curing process, which is relatively corrosive. I'd be reluctant to put that near SMT PCB's or exposed wiring.

Epoxy is a far better choice, all of the reactants are 'bound up' in the curing process.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif That is what I assembled my McLux with. One and a half years, so far so good, but I won't use it again.
