I know the reverse polarity things has been addressed/fixed but my question is, will an EverLed work in a lantern such as the Rayovac Value Bright?

I just love my "cheap" little modified Value Bright lanterns,(one with Tec40 bulb and the other with a faceted reflector /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif and 4.8v krypton bulb) and think that i would love them even more with an EverLed in them.

Is this the lantern? If so, I have an Everled in one.

yeah, talking about the lanterns, the ones that have a rough textured body. I love 'em!

My Value Bright lantern with the PT40 bulb is probably the farthest throwing light i have ever seen!! awesome spot light!

fyi, I had to shave the PR notch a bit with a razor knife so that the Everled would fit. Nice runtime, and the side-emitter does well here.

Non-white everleds work great in this application as well. I use a blue as a marker light outside when expecting company in the evening (very attention getting) or an amber for general outside area lighting duties, or for a bar light.

okay, im soooo sold.........

now what can i pawn off to get $40??????? hmmmmm???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/broke.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The everled will have a slightly, if not drastically different throw compared to your good incandescant bulbs in that lantern. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif
Everleds are really much like any other high powered leds in that it performs best when hooked up to some kind of a good heatsink like: a metal reflector, metal bulb socket with a large contact flange. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
There is more than just the emitter to think about as far as heat is concerned. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
There is also the issue of it's regulating circuit generating a little heat too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
Both sources of heat have to be disposed of properly to ensure a long and happy relationship with your $40 Everled. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

If your Everled does croak, Make sure it came from www.Ledsupply.com
Thier customer service to cpf members has been great over the last couple months for myself and a few other flashoholics here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif

The advantage here for the Everled is color and regulation. A good incan bulb will dim and yellow very quickly on 4AA.

hmmm??? anyone else getting a forbidden notice?

Seems to only work with IE. There is no valid reason for them to do this.

Interesting. Works in Konqueror, but not in Mozilla. Konq is Identified as Mozilla 5.0. I can't find what Mozilla is Identified as.

The link doesn't work for me and I am using IE.

Works in firefox just fine. Mozilla 5.0? Are you sure? Must be a pre 1.0 version, in fact it's probably really old, at least 2000 or prior. Get a newer browser... Netscape dropped 5.0 and went straight to 6, which was a 0.9x (mozilla) based browser.
