exit sign question

I just was curious if it is possible to recover the light sources from a exit sign? Just also curious if they are glued in or how to remove them if they are? Thanks

It is possible. You need to be patient and careful. Don't do it when you are in a hurry. I suggest you work outside in case you crack a tube. (Try not to do that.) The last one I opened had them lightly glued into soft white plastic troughs. The troughs acted as a shock absorber for the tubes. I should mention that if you are in the US it would probably be considered improper by the authorities.

When you are someday done with them you should send them to someone who makes those signs so they can capture the remaining tritium rather than let it go in a dump or something.
