an unexpected bill just came up, and left me with exactly $2.18 to my name /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

i need to auction off my arc d to raise some funds for those necessary evils such as food and gas /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

here is one picture of the monster, more can be seen by clicking the link above:

it's in good shape, but does have a couple small scraches, nothing very noticable though.
i should also mention that it uses the head from an arc "second", but i've noticed no problems at all. if a problem does eventually develope, i will refund 100% of the cost.

the auction will end on sunday at 12:00midnight central time, as seen by the cpf clock.

$35.00

This is boss! Looks like it'll be real stable standing on it's tail cap. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: fa: arc d

So this runs on a single "D"? Twist on?

Aww, whut the heck, I remember my own days back in school, trying to be independent from my old man, so it's for a good cause --

$50

Re: fa: arc d

thanks charlie /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

yes, it's a single "d"
it twists on, in the same manner that a maglite will not turn on if the tailcap isn't on securly.

Re: fa: arc d

Roth, please provide details of the continuous run time and images of the beam pattern if possible, thanks!

Re: fa: arc d

Dan, you don't want this, trust me, you don't. Who'd want one of possibly only two in existence in the world with a run time you'd have to use scientific notation to express!

Re: fa: arc d

well, the beam is pretty much standard arc aaa beam. this one is a bit "warmer" than my personaly edc, and quite bright. in the hotspot, if you look closely you can see the grid pattern. overall, it's a very nice beam i think.

as far as runtime, i really have no idea. jtice did a 1d arc mod earlier and did a runtime test, so i'll let him answer that one.

Re: fa: arc d

You are looking at at LEAST 50 hours runtime.
Upwards of 80 hours.

Mine ran 45 hours straight with no noticable difference in output.

JTice: I ran my "Roth D" for 110+ continuous hours and it's still going strong with no loss of brightness! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This thing is amazing! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: fa: arc d

MadMan, congrats! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You're getting good runtime out of the little RothyArclet. If you pop the cap and put a DMM measuring current on the "10A" setting in series with the circuit, you can see how much current draw is coming from the battery. After that the math is pretty easy, given that a D cell supplies 18,000mAh stored energy. My guess is that the little guy is actually measurably dimmer than when you started, but since our eyes see brightness differences in nonlinear fashion, you won't necessarily see the difference, so no worries!

Off topic, does the "S4" in your username refer to the Audi S4? I'm guessing yes because of the little Audio (Edit: little Audio? little Audi!) in your sigline? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

And are you a madman from driving the car or collecting all the flashlights?
