I just noticed this type of gear holder the other day and have questions not really answered here or the pictures I've seen.
How well do they stay in place?
How well do they "pull around" to the frount to get stuff out?
One of my uses will be a five day period every summer that includes me being in and out of a small cart, similar to a golf cart. I've given up on my fanny pack and it stays on the cart. I can't wear it behind me when I drive and can't have it in front of me when I'm out of the cart because I'm hauling gear. Can I keep one on and drive?
Can I mount something high on the strap?
I have a Yasua VX-5 which is about the size of a fat FRS radio but is a 5 watt multi-band rig and I need to look at it to change channels.
Cell phone, knife, some first aid stuff and the single item that frequently makes me a hero of the first order. An eye-glass repair kit.

When I had my arm in a sling I wore the fatboy while driving. I just eased it in front of me, and put the seat belt round me. I used it this way cause I had no pockets and couldn't reach with my right arm so it had to be accessible to my left (only useable arm). I couldn't wear pants so all I wore was elastic waistband shorts and tee shirt. The fatboy was my buddy.
It swings easily when I want to access a rear pocket. I wear the older style made for "right side" tho it is a delight slung over the left side.
I had no belt loop on the FB and this never hindered my use.
Do a search for Fatboy and you'll come up with plenty of pics and posts on the ManBag /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey Tom, do ya mean Murse?

Mike, after I found out Tom did that, I've tried it, and it works. If you load it up a lot, it gets in the way when seatbelted and driving, but you may not wear a belt in the cart, in which case there's no prob.

In that case, you could get the S-type Fatboy and hang it off your left side, assuming that's the side away from the middle of the cart when you drive. That would be totally out of the way.

As to your radio, look at the Maxpedition pouches available, which include various size waistpacks and radio/cell holders. The regular Fatboy has a cellphone pouch and a high attachment point for an additional pouch, I use an M2, and the S-type has no cellphone pouch, instead it has two attachment points that you can customize.

Good luck,
