McGizmo LunaSol 20. The low level flood and high level general purpose beam are a great combination.

+1 For the LunaSol 20 for EXACTLY the reasons Goatee stated. The perfect edc light IMHO. One of these, and an Aeon for when you're traveling light, and you're set!

E1B with a E2DL tail. Great throw and nice feeling to play with when I need something to fiddle with. Right now the only other 1*cr123 that I consider alongside the E1b are my Nitecore Extremes (Q5 or GD), which have the advantage of taking rechargeables. But next week I'll start edc-ing my new Ex10 Patriot :). It hasn't got the same smooth feeling as the E1B but is indeed very nice to look at.

Surefire L1 Cree with a 3.7V RCR123 cell.
Perfect little pocket thrower and the low setting is perfect for indoors. Works great with the RCR123 about a third brighter too.

Take care

I don't currently have a 1xCR123, but I'm thinking of putting the LumaPower IncenDio on my Christmas wish list.

TBH: My LumaPower LM31 (1xAA) has turned out to be my most-used light. Good balance between throw and flood and a simple UI.

SUREFIRE L1 CREE!

Because it´s construction, size and output kicks ***!!

Original "round" E1 body, Z57 tailcap and Milky Seoul P4 driven original style L1 head...180+ lumens..and as small as my Titan...

Yup, a Nitecore Extreme for me too.

a close second would be my EX10....

My signature line says it all.

I have three old ARC LS's and a brass FireFly II gathering dust on the shelf. Each of those had it's years in my sig line as well. But as my eyes get older I am also carrying one of Ky's SSC AAA lights in my back pocket, and to my surprise I end up using that more than the P1D to see things close up.

Shiningbeam RC-N3-Q5
-Bomb proof reliability. I have dropped mine repeatedly on the bezel and tailcap and it has the gouges and dents to prove it.
-Forward momentary clicky has proven to be just as reliable as my Surefire twist caps.
-EDC daily on my belt pack
-USA based www retailer, shipped out of NY.
-Solid construction and build quality
-$25, cheap enough to really trash/beat up on without feeling guilty.
-80L from a primary, ~130 from RCR123
-WC color tint
-GITD switch boot
-Good throw with sufficient side flood.
-Cree rings are not as pronounced as other budget Cree designs
-Configurable for 2xAA
-White water bottle cap over the bezel works great to flood the beam

Why is it that this RC-N3 from DX is cheaper? Is the emitter different from the one from ShiningBeam?

The Deal Extreme is either a P4 or P3 emitter and the Shining Beam one is a Q5. 30% or so more output. If you get one get the rechargeable RCR123 for it. Much better output & about an hour battery life. Don't forget discount code for Shining Beam (CPFuser) extra 6% off

I Love mine!!! Great Throw!!! and lights a nice path for walking, no problems in 8 months. I almost Guarantee that it would be the most popular budget light ever if it had a nice regulated three mode switch. Even better if it could keep the tactical switch too.

In this order:

Surefire L1 Cree
Novatac 120P
Zebralight H50
Jetbeam Jet II IBS
Peak Caribbean
