All the ceilings at my home are white - both smooth and 'popcorn' textured.

Question: In the event of a power outage and I want to light up a room with soft light, what gets more light onto the room - ceiling bounce or using a Fenix Diffuser? It seems that a diffuser will create more light loss than the ceiling.

Thanks,
Moses

Probably the cieling bounced would be better, also if you walk into the room there isn't the bright diffuser tip glaring in your eyes. I often tail stand my P2D on LOW in my kid's room when I need to go in and change a diaper, etc, and it lights up the whole room, it's actually a bit too bright. :)

Indeed, I experienced some very noticeable loss of lumens with the diffuser tip attached compared to straight-up ceiling bounce. Diffuser is more versatile though, you could even lay the light on it's side if you had to - i.e., when a flat surface isn't available.

I'd go for the ceiling bounce 'cause we are used to light coming from above.
Unfortunately all my ceilings are Western Red Cedar (!) and don't reflect at all well. I like diffusers.
