I got my HL21 today, and the modes seem a bit odd to me. It turn on in the last mode used (it has memory) so that's right. Double-clicking the switch turns the flashing mode on or off. Got it. When in low, press and hold for one second; the light goes into medium mode. From medium, press again and hold for one second; the light goes into high. All of this seems right.

However, if I'm in high and hold the switch, the light dims very quickly into low mode. It doesn't switch to low; you can see it dimming very quickly, then stopping at low. Also, the flashing mode comes on in medium mode. I thought it would come on in high.

Are either of these normal?

Good light, by the way...

What you describe is what happens with mine too. The flashing mode is actually *S.O.S* (three short- three long- three short)

But on another note ... I see you have removed the light body from the head strap part. Mine seems very very tight and I'm reluctant to force it.

Was yours very tight ?

It snapped right off and snaps right back on. I put the light in my jacket pocket for a hand-held flashlight.

Fenix always has a dimming effect when you go from high to low. They also do not use turbo for SOS anymore, only for strobe. Sounds like your light is working like it should.
