Besides the difference in LED's (Cree v. Seoul-P4), these look like they're essentially the same light. Is the Hunt light a knock-off?

I had a L1P & L1T, was happy with both lights and gave them to some family members that needed lights.

Now I'm looking for a replacement and either of these look like they'd fit my requirements for EDC.

You don't happen to have any more info on the huntligt. I havent seen it ben mentioned before.
Thanks.

Since 12 persons voted in the poll you would assume someone knew something about this light. :)
Weird, I cant find any info on it either. Would be nice to know anything at all about it. But sadly it seems to be a single output light.

About the knock-off remark. When Fenix made the first 1AA luxeon with decent performance (L1P) it didnt take long until the market was full of clones. Huntligt made one (FTA2, same design as FT03), but it was far from the most similar looking clone.

I found some spec's on Lighthound's page, but the SSC and luxon LED's were the same (45lumens for 1.5hrs), so something is off.

I went ahead and ordered a L1D CE from Fenix-Store as I really enjoyed the L1T. I might pick up a L2D later on, but I suspect there will be a lot more Cree choices between now and July, so I might just hold off a bit.

On an unrelated note, I'm kind of curious to see what the NovaTac ends up being like. It's made by the new company that bought HDS Systems (Nova-something). Should be interesting times ahead for EDC.

I demo'd the Huntlight mentioned on Friday at Lighthound. I wasn't impressed by it at all. The L1D was brighter. The SSC model's tint seemed purple compared to the Cree. Yes, I did make sure it was the SSC model. It's imprinted on the side of the flashlight head.

The L1D CE has 4 brightness levels and 2 other modes, while the Huntlight FTA2 SSC P4 is a single output level.

The L1D CE on High is almost the same exact brightness as the Huntlight, but the beam of the Huntlight having much less "throw" makes it seem dimmer to the eyes.

The Huntlight is smaller and lighter than the Fenix, and it also has longer runtime than the Fenix on high.

They are both great lights, but you'll need to decide what it is you want from a light and which one fits your needs better.
