Fenix L1D with UltraFire C3 extension?

Does anyone know if a combination of the Fenix L1D with a UltraFire C3 AA extension tube would work, giving you a 2xAA light when you need it, rather than having to buy a L2D body?

I tried it and it will not fit. The diameter of the Fenix is bigger than the C3 extension tube.

You bet. It would be nice if it would work since the C3 extension tube is a fraction of the cost of a L2D-CE body.
