Fenix L2D - Cree emitter wire casts a shadow ???

I just picked up a Fenix L2D and noticed that the emitter wire casts a shadow when I shine it on a wall anywhere from 1 to 15 feet away. It is visible as a faint line right near the center of the beam. Is this typical of the Cree LEDs? I've seen beam shots on various review sites and they don't seem to have the same behavior although it might be the fact that the pictures mask the "problem".
I would appreciate any input.

seems all crees have the shadow or at least all mine do

Mine has the shadow here also...only noticed on a white wall tho!

Mine has it. I noticed it right away. Sure wish the Fenix lights came with a textured reflector to hide that sort of stuff...

My L2D seems fine and i can barely tell theres a shadow from the CREE emitter. It makes virtually no difference in any real world application.
