Hello everyone. I am looking for a single AAA battery light. I have used Fenix Lights for a few years, primarily the LD10 and LD20 and I have been very happy with them. I started looking at the LD01 a few weeks ago that they have and it looks to be a nice little light. However today I found a iTP A3 EOS that has similar modes and is significantly less expensive and seems to get good reviews.

What do you guys think? For those of you that have both which do you prefer. Is the iTP going to be as robust as the Fenix? I ask this because other less expensive lights such as the Ultrafires that I have tried seem to die with even the slightest bump. The Fenix's that I have have been dropped multiple times on the concrete floor in my shop without any problems.

Also the reason I am looking for one of these lights over using my LD10 is that I want something a little smaller for carrying around throughout the day at work, and for taking walks at night. The LD10 is great for going out hiking and camping but larger than I want for EDC in my front pocket.

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Greebe

the LD01 is superior, without doubt or hesitation. it's a fact. nobody here will question this statement.

nope..

..but it's still a decent light. ITP is a decent brand, but I haven't heard much about them lately.

Honestly, there isn't going to be all that much of a difference, the ITP will likely last you 10 years; the Fenix a lifetime, but I'm willing to bet you'll upgrade in less than 5

Thanks for the replies. I would like a good light that wont let me down without reason. I have found that the Fenix live up to this. The price difference is not that much and at $34 ish dollars for the LD01 that is worth it. If the iTP is more or less the same I could use the money saved to buy some rechargeable batteries for it.

It was mentioned that there are lots of other AAA lights to choose from. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I personally bought a HypeTac P1A from shingbeam, cause I wanted a clicky model, the downside of the light is the PWM (pulse width modulation) other than that, I am very pleased with the light.
If I did buy a twisty model, I'd buy the Fenix, but I adore my Fenix lights, so it might be bias.

..I could easily buy that ITP, and I think shininbeam used to have them in stock, but I'm not seeing it now.

The main advantages of the LD01 are better efficiency and no PWM.

The main disadvantage is that the LD01 is larger (but still plenty small enough for a keychain light)

I prefer the Med, low, Hi sequence of the LD01, but some people like Low, Med, Hi

I think you can still get the Fenix LD01 + E01 Combo pack for the same price or less than the LD01 alone. Check out Fenix dealers and see if they have a CPF discount Here.

Make sure you get the new stock R4 edition. It uses a better PWM free current regulated circuit and emitter. The older stock won't be as efficient and will have PWM.
