Hello all. I've had my LD20 for awhile and I was wondering if anyone else had any trouble taking apart the tailcap?

When I first got one, I couldn't get that tailcap apart and thought it was a fluke. When I ordered a second LD20 from 4sevens, I got the same result. I haven't contacted them because I figured maybe the retaining ring isn't supposed to come off, though I can take apart ALL my other tailcaps from other companies' lights.

I only want to switch out the reverse switch module for the forward switch module. I still don't want to make it 4sevens's problem because I hope to still have the lifetime warranty intact when I need it (abuse of the Costco policy did that one in). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Oh yeah, I performed a search and found nothing about retaining rings getting stuck. If I overlooked something, I apologize.

I had the same problem, apparently some of the earlier shipment LD20s had glued in tailcaps. I had one that was stuck permanently. I ended up contacting Fenix for a replacement (since mine was defective0.

If you got it from Fenix store, they can send you a replacement.

Funny since they told me later shipments should be unglued.

On another note, my head is firmly glued in place too, too bad since I want to swap emitters...
