Fenix LD20, Fenix TK20, EagleTac P10A2 or NiteCore D20?

I'm getting one these 2AA lights, but I'd like you guys to give your preference and why. Thanks! :help:

I'm interested to hear these answers too, how about the JETBeam JET-I Pro EX V2.0 compared to those as well?

Thanks!!

I'd take the Fenix TK20 out of those choices for it's simple UI, warm tint, and best in class throw.

I couldn't answer this, because they are all great flashlights, and I know nothing about your needs.

I'd pick an EagleTac over the rest in a heartbeat! KISS principle, forward clicky, brightness and efficiency even on crappy alkalines is just amazing.

EagleTac P10A2 - I don´t have one, so I can´t judge.

Nitecore D20 - I don´t like the UI. I don´t like ramping UI at all. And it looks like does not have too much throw, if compared with the other models.

So, my vote goes to Fenix LD20 (if it´s your first 2xAA), or Fenix TK20 (if you want something to use outdoor, with a lot of throw, simple UI and outstanding regulation and runtime).

Just remind that TK20 is a little bigger/heavier than the LD20.

Can´t go wrong on both! :twothumbs

I would like a low-med setting in the 40-50 lumen range mostly for a general utility task light. I would use the higher setting mostly outdoors, garage or car on occasion. I really think that 40-50 lumen setting with hrs of runtime would be the most useful for me... with an option for much higher output occasionally. A little extra weight is not an issue since I don't plan to EDC this light.

Otherwise I don't have any other specific needs.

Both the P10A2 and TK20 are two mode lights like you describe. The P10A2 will give you more spill and less throw, and a cooler white color, good for indoor use. The TK20 pretty much gives all throw, and is more yellow in tint. Since most of your use would be indoor, I'd suggest the EagleTac.

I think the Fenix lights are the most efficient on Nimh. But i EDC the Nitecore now, it can be set to a lower mode and it looks cool.

I have all of the above listed lights and will clearly recommend the EagleTac P10A2 followed by the Fenix LD20. The TK20 is very disappointing, with a very narrow, not particularly useful beam and the NiteCore (see my previous posts) has UI "issues". Though I like playing with the NiteCore, when I actually need to "use it", the UI is very aggravating!
The EagleTac has great throw and spill. I can't figure out why people who don't own the EagleTac keep insisting that it doesn't throw well when it out-throws all of the above listed lights???

Excellent and helpful information. Both the EagleTac and Fenix mentioned above show very good regulation, too.

EngrPaul, I agree that other settings wouldn't get much use. I like the simplicity of a two mode, low & high output light. And 40 or 50 lumens is plenty for most general tasks, much brighter than we ever had with a standard flashlight.

Thanks, guys... I appreciate your help! :D

Fenix LD20, Fenix TK20, Fenix L2D, Fenix E20, EagleTac P10A2 or NiteCore D20...

What will be better for outdoors use? Close range and long distance use both. The longest runtime is necessarily. What is your advice? TIA
