Newly Enlightened
Hello everyone. I was wondering if someone could help me out.
My P3D used to live in my car but when I went to get it the other day, it was all fogged up with something. I put it in a window to clear it up and that worked partially. The glass lens cleaned up but the reflector was still dull. I figured I'd put some Isopropal alcohol in there to clean whatever it was up. However, once I put it in there, it turned pink. I thought that it was weird but whatever. Anywho, I put it in the window again to get it to dry out again. Then pink "goo" started leaking out the back of the head. I cleaned it up and continued doing that until it stopped.
Now all I have is low mode on the light. It is still the same sequence as it's supposed to, but now it goes low-low-low-S.O.S. (at the low brightness). Then if I tighten the bezel I get low and strobe (at the low brightness). I opened up the head and cleaned it but I haven't popped the electronics out yet. Does anyone know what I can do to get it working normally again?
Edited to add: When I got home today I decided to try and clean everything one more time. Well, when I put it back together it started working correctly. I'm not sure what was wrong but oh well, it's working now. However, from the alcohol disolving the pink stuff, some of it got around the edge of the LED itself. I can't get it out. All it does though is add a bit of pinkish/red to the beam. So I guess for all the people saying that the cool white bins are lacking in the red spectrum.....that's not true of my light now. I'll see how it works outside tonight.
