Fenix PD30 R4 voltage range??

I was wondering if the PD30 (R4) works with a single 123 battery? I know it's listed for 2xcr123, but I was curious if it might actually have a broader voltage range than listed....??

I tried a pd30 head on a pd20 body with one cell but if i remember right it was dim and flickered

Yes that's right!
Further more regulation of two rcr123s is ok with all modes unlike pd20.

I run my PD30 with a 17670 (unprotected Panasonic CGR17670HG) and am quite happy. Note that some protected 17670's are too wide to fit. All modes work fine.
