I ordered a tk10 from fenix store and some aw rcr123's and a charger.
Just wondering if the tk10 can handle the output from the rcr123's.
don't want to ruin my new light when it gets here.

I've been running RC123s in mine so far. It draws about .5something amps on rechargables and .9something amps on primaries, so I figure it should be ok. I remember reading somewhere it was ok.

Thanks all. :)
I'm glad to see that fenix store suggests the exact batteries that Ill be using. Now I just gotta learn about rcr's while I wait.

You could probably run it on 3 or 4 RCR123's if it was fitted with the apropiate battery tube. The TK10 can handle about 12 volts from what I've read and the P3D can handle 16 if I read right. Gotta love them buck converters.

I run AW RCR123's hard and heavy, myself. :)

Thanks for the link to that site, it was really informative.:)
after a hour or two of getting up to date on li-ion batteries and their inherent pros and cons, I think I'm totally well equipped with all the knowledge that I'll need.
Now it's just the waiting game.:popcorn::sssh:

You're welcome, glad I could help. I hope the knowledge you aquired comes in handy.

I am curious to know if the aw rcr123 cells sold by fenix store are protected cells. It does not mention that they are on the fenix store website, but they direct you to the cpf marketplace for details and it seems that aw offers protected and unprotected cells. (I think).
Anyone got experience ordering these cells?
Thank you in advance.

Fenix store probably sells protected ones.

For what it's worth, I couldn't find unprotected R123's by AW in the MP thread :)

I did not see them listed as unprotected rcr123's either but there are so many different names for the same batteries so I thought I'd play it safe.
Thanks for the reply.
