Tonight I am heading out to North Wales for a 3 day break...of course I shall be taking several torches with me. Not only will I be taking on to use myself, but I'm going to see if I can demo them to others on the campsite and show them the benefits of LED torches!
I will report back on this thread on Tuesday night...
LED torches are still quite a rare sight in England, where Edison reigns supreme, and remembering what the reaction to my BT1 prototype was, one wonders what they're going to reckon to my Cyan BT2. This is 3 or 4 times brighter than the prototype. Also being aken is a Bt2 longbeam orange and my 3D alumimnium torch with 2 cyan mod.
I love to see peopls reactions when they see how much light can come from such a tiny device!
If any UK torchaholics spot bright cyan beams of light in North Wales, it's probably me!

Speak to you all Tuesday!

I look forward to Bank Holiday Monday's BBC1 10 p.m. TV news reporting UFO sightings/strange lights in the Welsh skies. Heh-heh.

Pierce.

First the Good News...
The cyan torches were a tremendous success and prompted one person to take my contact details and propose the ordering of a BT2 skeleton assembly to install in his own case.
The BT2 cyan was used as a camp floodlight each night I was at Nant Gwynnant. The torch was able to illuminate our camp gathering area quite well; in its light you could easily distinguish peoples' faces. The torch was rested on the roof-bar of a nearby panel van. A proportion of its light also lit up the forestation in the background some 60 or 70 feet away. People were amazed at so much light coming from such a tiny box!
The aluminium 3D also performed well as a hand-carry torch. It is a torch to feel safe with! It has a reasonaby wide bright beam which extends 100's of metres. I managed to light up at least 25 sets of cats eyes mounted in the road that goes through Nant Gwynnant. At roughly 5m apart, that's 125m!
This is the torch that will be accompanying me to America on Monday!
The bad news is that on he way home, I misplaced my tank bag when I refuelled the bike on the way home. It was only when I'd covered 90 or so miles that I looked down and noticed thed tankbag's abence. Inside the bag were a mobile phone, some bike leggings, a bike lock, a camera and 3 demo BT2's. Hopefully someone in the petrol station will try to find the tank bag's owner through my mobile phone's phonebook. After all there are three good torches in that bag!
...I know that one of the torchaholics on this forum lives in North Wales...If he s passing through Betws-Y-Coed maybe he could call in at the "Globe" Petrol station and ask if there is a blue tank bag that has been misplaced at he station. If only to get hold of those precious torches!...
