I currently have a ARC LSH-S that takes only 1 123A battery. I love its size but i am looking to see if there is one that is the same size and uses the same battery but is one of the luxeon V led's. I would mabye think about a 3 watt luxeon but would rather have the extra light and have shorter battery life. I guess it would be best if it was regulated and had a switch like on the ARC i have right now. I have been out of the loop as far as led flashlights go after i bought my ARC.. so out of the loop that i just found out today that ARC went belly up! Anyway any links to place i could buy one or somewhere i could buy a pre-modded light that fits what im looking for would be great.

you might wanna post this or have this post moved to the LED forum.

but, the Surefire L4 head on an E1e body or even a Vital Gear body might be what you're looking for. AKA TW4.

cOmputOr,

Welcome to CPF!

The TW4 (AKA Surefire E1e/KL4) with a R123 battery runs in regulation and it's brighter than the TW4 with 123s.

A TW4 with either battery is really nice.

The Vital Gear 1x123 body will make it smaller. You can get the Vital Gear bodies from CPF member jcciv also know on ebay as surefireparts.

McGizmo could build you a 1x123 light with a Luxeon V.
McGizmo also makes two stage tailcaps that would give you a high and low beam for a TW4. These are twist/press on like a Surefire L1/A2 (not interchangeable with L1/A2).

J.S. Burly sells the R123s and chargers.

i like the surefire L4 head... and realy like the vital gear FB1 body. That body is exactly what im looking for. My question is i can only use a KL4 head and not a KL5 or KL6 because only the KL4 threads will fit the vital gear FB1 body. Also will just one 123A battery power the KL4? or does it need 2? and if you can use just one would it reduce the amount of lumens it produces or just shorten run time?... or both.

and how much would buying a KL4 (just the head) and vital gear body run. i cant seem to find prices for the vital gear body or a consistent price other than what is on the surefire website for just the head. thanks for the help.

So it runs in regulation with an R123, but not in regulation with a 123 - right?

best regards
