I've got LedLenser David 1 yr ago, and I really love this body.
However, the output does not impress me.
I've done simple mod by only using McR16 (grind for 15.5) and I love the beam shape but output still:thumbsdow .

So please help me to choose the converter for this body as the below case

1. use Ni-MH
2. use Li-ion 14500
( I prefer using Ni-MH because I don't have protected 14500 yet but if any converter can best match with both type of battery, please suggest me)

Now I have both Seoul P4 and Cree P4 in my hand, please suggest the converter for this.
I heard that Minipro, Downboy (400, 500), Wizard, Madmax Plus, GD500 can be used with 1AA, but which one is better in this case.

I've used MM+ boards for 1AA NiMH and li-ion. Double-check on the li-ion use, though. IIRC, if you use li-ions, the Vf of the Lux has to be on the higher end (or maybe that was with the BadBoy?).

Thanks , greenLED.

By the way, what is IIRC mean??
And if I use MM+ with Cree or Seoul (Seoul might be easy to mod in this body) ,
Can I use Li-Ion?
And how about estimated runtime for 1AA NiMH for MM+?

If you plan to run on 1xAA nimh best you can get to led is about 300mA Lambda, madmax, whatever you use. Actually driverboard ripped off from "ELLY" http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1120 is as good as any other converter running on 1.2 (OK, your mileage may vary with these chinese things, I have 2 of these modded with XR-E leds and they run at about 300-350mA to led with single nimh cell.)

IIRC= if I remember correctly

Like I said, *if* my memory serves me right, you need the Vf to be on the high side (at least "J" on the Lux Vf scale) for the MM+ to work with li-ion. Since the new Crees have lower Vf's, the MM+ might not be a good candidate. There are some old threads on The Sandwich Shoppe Section about this, and I suggest you double-check my faulty memory before proceeding.

I didn't try with MM+ yet,
but due to I have cree in hand, I try to change it.

Current McR16 didn't match with cree, but change is noticeable.

It's really bright even big dim spot but still enough for walking, reading or in-car use.

Wide spill of cree is useful.

I'm looking for MM+ result ........

However changing to reflector, this flashlight cannot be waterproof due to a lot of hole on the head..... (' ',)
