I purchased a completed [TK] FireFly on B/S/T. My question: is there any easy way to put one of the Fraen Optics that Mr Bulk is selling into this unit? I don't even know if it will fit.

If it requires a soldering iron or any special equipment [beyond a screwdriver] it will beyond my limited abilities, but maybe others here would want to know.

I think you will need to turn it down, at least around the edges. If you must take off more than the flange, I believe you will lose some precious photons (they'll be there, just not collimated and thrown forward).

According to the Fraen people the removal of as little as 10% from around the edge will result in a 30% loss of light output!

Yeah, I'm afraid I'm helplessly drawn onto CPF all the time, stalking new posts to read and/or answer.

Aren't you glad you're not the only one with light-related OCD???!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
