Anyone have any experience with tailcap switches in the L2P?
I recently received my first SolarForce light - got the Blue HA-III L2P. Added a flat SS bezel. What a lovely light.
The tail bezel is a little tight for my giant thumb. It takes concerted effort to turn it on, and occasionally I couldn't do it with my left (weak) hand.
I looked at crenelated bezels, but none of them match the blue. So, I made my own!
I meant to snap a photo, but my wife seems to have snagged the camera.
Regardless, I removed the switch from the tailcap, used a 1" dia stone wheel on my drill, and ground 3 crenelations into the tail bezel. Now I can reach the switch easily.
Here's my dilemma:
As you are probably aware, the L2P tailstands, but it's a bit wobbly because the boot is as tall as the bezel.
I saw some posts where people put an O-Ring on the top of their switch boot to make it work with a McClicky.
I have a McClicky on the way (intended for a SureFire 6P.)
So, should I install the McClicky in my L2P with the O-Ring, and put the L2P forward-clicky in the 6P?
Could I use the same O-Ring with the original L2P Forward clicky to pull the boot down into the tailcap slightly?
I'm going to pick up the 10mm washer and 16mm O-Ring just in case; I would prefer to just install once.
Found the camera. Sorry about the blurriness...
Thanks for looking, and any help/experience you can offer.
