first surefire purchase?

okay, i am interested in picking up a surefire flashlight.
mainly with led use in mind, but i would also like to know what you-all think of the E2e w/the KL1 module compared to the L1.

Personally,

I like the ability to use the KL1 with the E2, or even the E1, and then when I want, I can use it with the incan lamp. I usually have an E1 with the KL1 on it as EDC. And an E2 with incan lamp. I usually have a spares carrier with me for them. I also bought a used 35mm lens case that I use to carry the original head and lamp that is currently not in use. This is tied to the spares carrier. I can switch them as needed.

Well they are about the same price. With the E2e/KL1 combo you have in fact 2 lights and you are gonna have many accessory opions to go with the E2e like TID, Z57 clickie, optional bulb, KL4. Li is cool, but less fun.

E2e(KL1), L1 's size is similar...
L1's two step clickieis good, but 1.5 hr runtime.
E2e(KL1)'s 4.5 hr is more long, but u need a ARC AAA as keychain (to compensate 1 lumen of L1)

if you dont need the 1 lumen in L1, u would like E1e(KL1) with same run time. (in fact, i like the design of two clickie. but i dont mind without the 1 lumen in E2e. E2e has 3X runtime for same size:) You wont mind the batt drips...)

also i like KL1, as it can use in both my E1e, E2e. The question is if u will also buy E1e later?

E2e can order without the original bezel now
$110 at TACTICAL WAREHOUSE. some may cheaper.
but without the incan lamp will quite disappointed...

That's tough. If you're looking primarily at the LED ability of the light...I would go with the L1. It has turned into my daily carry. I love the 1 watt option and often only have to activate that to navigate. Given that, the 1.5 hours of runtime jumps up considerably. I often find the ARC AAA is too bright, as is the CMG ultra-g. But the low beam of the L1 is perfect for my needs. The high beam is much whiter than my KL1.

It also runs on only one battery. so the 1.5 hour runtime is actually 3 hours comparing apples to apples.
