Hello Everybody, got a question to ask you all. Can i Flash SureFire Bulbs P60, P61, P90, P91 and (MN60 & MN61 For SureFire M4)? And i Really Mean Lots of Flashing!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Yes but not flashing like disco lights the way you did to my flashlight last night. I don't understand why it concerns you so much on whether Surefires can or will take repeated flashing and it puzzled me greatly when you are so interested about whether Surefire can flash repeatedly for 5 mins. As I told you, I bet your hands would be tired by the 1st minute of repeated flashing. If you really want to flash, go get a disco light. They do come in LEDs and lasers too.
From a safety perspective, it's best not to flash or shine lights at vehicles - especially when they are moving at night.
Even as a means of attracting driver attention they can be very dangerous and may not help the situation you are alerting them to.
I mention this only since I once used a SureFire 12PM to warn a car travelling at speed of a break in the road surface. Since the driver sped up to run me down the damage to the car was far greater. We wrote off six cars on that field-trip. I believe it was a record for the hire company too.
The driver suggested that not even if he was driving off a cliff was I to shine my SureFire into his eyes again...
don't shine a bright flashlight into the eyes of somebody driving a car towards you. It pisses them off, causes them to drive dangerously and in the case in Spain caused them to drive into the hole in the road I was trying to let them know about. We managed to spot the hole and drive off road round it. They sped up to try scare me and drove straight into the hole which wrecked the car and pissed off the driver even more. I tell you the 12PM almost lit up places of me where the sun don't even shine...
So bright lights in drivers eyes can do more harm then good and do mostly harm in my experience.
Al did you consider using the light to light up the hole? I was walking my dog the other night and a guy on a bike came flying up. I could see him coming from a distance so I used my light to illuminate my dog who was on the path. I was directing my light away from the on coming cyclist. He nodded his head as he flew by in "understanding" I presume. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif
He couldn't see the hole from where he was. Only reason why we spotted it was because I was messing around with the 12PM shining it ahead of us whilst standing up in the sunroof... I was like "The road stops!!" so we slowed down and went round the hole (break in the road about 30-50 cm deep, full width, about 10 metres long. The roads in Spain where we were driving were "roads" only because at some point something had driven that way once before. Sometimes it was hard to tell how!
But I'm way off topic so if people want this story to continue please let me know of a thread in the Cafe.
