Alright, first off I'm extremely new to the process of led flashlights. That said I'm going to attempt for my first build to build a solar light with an mce led.
Can a small solar panel be hooked into a rechargable battery array in series, with that battery feeding into others in parallel, until the max voltage for the mce is reached? Also, I would like to add a photodiode after the battery unit so that it only operates in low light conditions, and the batteries will probably be AA batteries because I have a bunch laying around.
Will most standard drivers support series parallel combinations?
Is this all that will be needed?

and of course the photodiode, heatsink, and housing
