Hi.

Are there any other flashlights with colimnator lenses other than the Streamlight Jr?

Reasons being that i can't get any warenty repair services form streamlight.

Also with a comlimnator lens the beam is very smooth, even at close range, not to mention it can throw quite far.

Now for those who wish to know what the colimnator lens is. It's the cone shaped lens that sits over the led in the SL JR, and not to top coin shaped poly carbonate lens.

It would be nice to get a FL with a glass colimnator lens.

Any thoughts?

Many of the Coast brand and Task Force (Lowe's) lights use these lenses. Also, the Advanced Auto Parts 2C 3watt, which is just like a Task Force model, has this lens.

I found a $15.99 Garrity 3xAAA at Walmart that claims "1W" using one. Don't know if it would fit or stand up to the heat a Streamlight might generate. You could always eyeball it, and give someone a gift if it doesn't fit.

I think this is the light. Note that the collimating cone is built into the (external) lens, not mounted on the led. You can "focus" the head by rotating it, but it really doesn't change the beam size or shape much, and slightly degrades the quality of light at the outer range. Still, for $16.99 instant gratification, not bad. If I were patient, I'd have sent the money to DX or KAI :)

Are you seeking to find optics to replace the optics in your Streamlight, or are you looking to buy a completely new flashlight with collimating optics?
If you are looking just to purchase the optics, you might try one of the Fraen optics which you can purchase at Future Electronics. The specs / models are here:

They are not glass, but they are good quality and really provide a nice beam. Future Electronics also ships really quickly too- I generally receive my order either the day after or two days after I place it.

Thanks for the very nice lens page/business. I've been looking for one for years.

I will order a few of those lenses right away. However as for the actualy fl i've decided to look for a better after sales service FL brand.

Fenix are nice especialy the original L2P. I don't care for thier new (l2d l1t) means of mode selection, which seems rather odd to me.

Thanks to the others for all the sugestions :)
