Hi, Varooj:

I have two of your original FM3H heads purchased from you in 2005 with cammed VLOP reflectors. I would love to use one of these on the M*gfire 3x18650 body I recently bought from you. Will the removeable cam MOP you're selling on this thread work on this combination?

Thanks.

Yes,
Some extra MOP removeable cam 3" reflectors are available now and will fit / work on any FM3" heads including old FM3H, FM3V, FM3H-2, FM3V-2, FM3H-3 and FM3X

Which of these two heads would be best for use with the Osram bulbs (64440, 64458, 64623) or are they internally identical?

Will these heads throw better than the Throw Master with the Osram bulbs?

The two 3X & 3H heads are the same as far as the bulb/beam is concerned. The differences are outward cosmetics. The reflector is what governs the optimal use for various bulbs. Because many of the Osram bulbs you mentioned (except the IRC 64440 50W) have transverse filaments (which cause ugly beam artifacts), the beams are fuller and cleaner looking with a MOP (medium orange peel) textured surface.

However the shape and earlier reflector version of the Throwmaster (which had a MOP texture at the bottom, transitioning to a SMO (Smooth) reflector coating at the wide end) works better at confining/focussing and "throwing" the larger Osram bulbs.

If you look at the bulb envelope and filament design of the Osram IRC bulbs, you see why they give the nicest looking beam output patterns.

Both type heads have identical shape and size inside but different look outside.
FM3H-3 has deeper fins (Heavier) to dissipate heat better.

FM - Would I be able to get one of the FM3X heads with a VLOP reflector without the cam and one of the adapters from here https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/233896 to work with a M6 light?
Yes, It is absolutely possible.
