i was wondering why there aren't more interest in a focusable flashlight. i guess like led lenser but with aa batteries.

i think an even flood is very useful and also appears to reduce the output
so i think it's good in fine tuning a light to the required application.

is there any 1aa focusable flashlights out there?

The jetbeam jetI pro is focusable and has the awesome IBS UI. unfortunately you can't use it as a candle due to the threads coming up past the led. If you can deal with using CR123's I highly recommend the jetII NON-pro. It uses one cr battery and has a tight very throwy beam at it's tightest position and does full flood as well as candle mode with the head removed. All this and the IBS UI. Check them out on the bug out gear site.
