While in the Bakersfield, CA Target today I went over to the flashlight section (like usual!) and found some Dorcy LED lights. I grabbed the 3 LED/Single AA light that others have talked about. I also grabbed a Foresight 7 LED/1 Krypton bulb hybrid. I can't show photos so I'll try to describe as best I can. The body is aluminum and has O-rings on the head and tailcap. It's nicely finished and has decent knurling. This light runs on 3 AAAs (included)that fit into a holder like Elektrolumens' 3 AA-to-D adapter. This holder is longer and slightly slimmer than a C cell. The light itself is about a 1/4" longer than a Pelican M6 and slightly fatter in both body and bezel. The seven 5mm LEDs are arranged in a circle around the krypton bulb. The bulb is a 3 cell version of the Mini-MagLite bulb and the part of the reflector this bulb uses is about the size of a Mag Solitaire. The LEDs are pretty white without any violet tint and project a nice flood. The krypton beam is "focusable" and throws about what a MiniMag does (The package says "shines up to 50 feet"; I'll buy that). The switch is right behind the head and the operation is On All LEDs-On incandescent-Off. I wish the sequence included a setting for 3 or 4 LEDs, as this would be even better for close range. The package doesn't indicate switch settings. I didn't take the light apart but I can see little surface-mount resistors next to each LED when looking inside the head. I assume there is no regulation. Anyway, for $19.95 it's an OK light; probably good for walking the dog. Foresight makes some other Mag clones and couple more hybrids. I'll probably get more as the funds allow. If anybody has any questions I'll try to answer them.
