There's this store that sells second hand merchandise in my area, and while I was looking around, I saw several sets of AAA batteries taped together. 10 in each pack. The lady behind the counter said they were new, and they wanted $1 per pack of ten. These were mainly Ray-O-Vac, and Energizer brands. The tape that held them together in each bundle was labeled "inspected and resealed by John Deere-Kansas City". I don't know if the tape was just something that was just laying around, or what the deal was, but for $1 for a pack of ten, I was willing to take a gamble. I got home and tried a few out in a Solitare (see, they are somewhat useful) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif and it lit up to full brightness (well as full as it gets, anyway.) It seems that they are good. The use by dates on the Ray-O-Vac Maximum plus were December 2009, so they seem pretty new. The lady also told me that they get in new batteries every Tuesday. The AA's sell out very quickly.(also $1 per pack of ten). They also had hundreds of camera batteries, but not a single 123, that I could find. They all looked like two 123's side by side. I guess I'll have to check that place out next Tuesday to get some AA's! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
