Only a very gullible person reading the title of this thread this would really expect to get a free SW01. Occasionally, an altruistic CPFer will conduct a "sale" at a vastly reduced price for the benefit of the community, and other members give away items in similar acts of kindness, but these are fairly rare occurrences and their titles make it obvious what they are. This title is intended to attract attention to a sale of a substantial item. There is nothing dishonest or disrespectful about that, and it has been done here before on numerous occasions.
As a tactic it treads a fine line, but as long as it is not taken to excess, or used so frequently that it becomes annoying, it is acceptable. It is certainly no more misleading or annoying than a vague, carelessly-worded or unspecific thread title, or a title that has been not edited after an item has been sold – these are things which occur many times daily here, and regrettably few complaints are received about those cases.
What is NOT acceptable is the unedifying spectacle of four members trashing this thread with their sour comments. They will shortly be receiving PMs warning them about their conduct. Other people have joined in to defend the OP, which is to an extent understandable, but the result is that the thread has been dragged completely off course and is now unrecoverable.
