Frosting plastic window

I've got a headlamp that needs a wider floodier beam. How should I go about frosting the plastic?

you can dust it with krylon clear, maybe take out the lens and do the inside

Stick a layer of inexpensive transparent shelf lining film over the headight lens. The transparent film is actually a light frost due to it's matte finish.

The nice thing about this stuff is that the adhesive stays with the film if you want to remove it later on.
