Interesting little light that I built up from parts acquired over the past few months. I prefer reflectors to optics, so I am offering it for sale.
KX1 head with an RV7 NiMh driver installed by Bigboy. Stock optic, new Cree Q5 running at 800 ma, brighter than a stock L1 Cree.
L1 Cree body with the regulator removed and the retaining shelf Dremel'd out. Not pretty, but battery does not rattle. There is a nick near the pocket clip, see pic. Body a tad too short, so two pieces of solder formed into a ring act as a conductive spacer. I added two glow rings in the gap, but a rubber O-ring would probably be better to maintain water resistance.
L1 two stage tail cap. the low mode is pretty low, probably due to the 1.2v cell. High is bright.
