Hi guys,

I have been trying to get these finished for weeks but finally got around to completing them:

PR-E2d-2S.jpg

There are five of these for sale and they have DB917 drivers pumping photons out through TX0J Lux III emitters. The clickie guts were removed from the tail caps and replaced with 2S switches with resistor values of 60 ohms. These lights behave in the same manner as the L1-PR-T mods I have done in the past.

I am asking $225 for these which includes the Pay Pal fees as well as priority mail (includes Global priority mail if applicable)

Let's number these #1 thru #5. If you want one, please stake your claim here, clearly (no PM's or trades), and send me an e-mail with the # and PR-T-E2d in the subject line. In the body of the E-mail, please include your CPF name along with your real name and mailing address.

Thanks for looking! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I take #1 please.

Re: FS: PR-T-E2d with two stage switch

I have one of these from parts that I bought separately and it is great.

Don:

Are you using a SF LOTC spring in the McE2S or a weaker one?

Re: FS: PR-T-E2d with two stage switch

Bill,

I just got my custom springs, after silver plating, delivered today. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif These have softer springs. You still know you are pushing against a spring to get from off through to high but these are nothing like the few LOTC "trouble makers" I encountered.

The new springs are NICE! (And I don't shout very often.)

Re: FS: PR-T-E2d with two stage switch

Thanks Larry! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I am going to be retrofitting my LOTC's with these springs too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Des and Flashlight, got you covered! Thanks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: FS: PR-T-E2d with two stage switch

I'll take #3 please.

Combine shipping using Global Express Mail (GEM) with insurance together with flashlight.

Please quote me the extra postage. Thanks.

Edited to add: I'm going off to work now, will be back in 12 hours. Will reply or post then.

Re: FS: PR-T-E2d with two stage switch

You guys are going to love these! Don built a PR-DB917 for my E2D and sent me a 60ohm McE2S kit for it. Really a nice combo! Cant wait to see the springs at the Shoppe, Don. I really need one!

Don:

That's great! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif How long before the Shoppe has them in stock? Now all we need is the guarded tailcap! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/poke2.gif

OK guys looks like these are all gone. There was an E-mail from one CPF member who said he wanted one of these but he didn't post on the thread and he had some questions about the light. I responded to his E-mail and requested he stake a claim here, but have not heard back yet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif To him: Sorry.

As to the shoppe and the springs, I need to count some out and mail them off to Wayne. Guess I should get going on this....

That's great. I'm looking forward... I need a couple to modify Z57s /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Oops, sorry to go off topic.

Don:

How are the guarded tailcaps coming along?

Don, please put me down on the list as a backup if you have any left (or somebody backs out). I'll definitely take one if that's the case. Thanks!

Bill,

The tail caps are sitting at the two anodizers. Last week I was given the hope that they could have been picked up yesterday but phone calls confirmed that the parts have yet to be plated at both shops. The black sound promissing for this week but I am getting a run around on the HA-Nat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

As soon as I have the black caps, I will start a thread on TK builds to suit and when I get the HA-Nat, I'll add them to the options as well. Frankly, I need to generate some revenue to pay for machined aluminium that is in progress and will be some time before it can be sold. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

arewethereyetdad,

These E2d's all will ship out this AM so sorry!

Oh yeah, before I forget once again, I won't know for a fact until I get the production caps back and these get out in population but there may be some combinations where the tailcap will not screw down far enough to provide constant on. Getting the geometry of the 2S module to work in the Z52 and Z57 forced me to change the thickness of the retaining nut and I *may* have shot myself in the foot for my own tail cap! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

Now the "fix", if required, is very simple but I don't have the parts needed for doing a bunch of these. However You guys do! It's the wonderful plastic spacer washer that is wrapped at the negative end of the 123 cells. This is a great part!! I just can't bring myself to source these and buy and charge for them when we all throw these away! The "fix" involves placing this wonder washer between the rubber boot and jam nut inside the tail cap. In some but not all cases I have tried, the tail cap will bottom out on the battery tube, with a few thousandths of stroke still needed to bring the button into contact with the resistor PCB giving you constant high level. Ironically, this washer was the solution for SF's first run of Z57's that were grumpy and may be required for some combinations of my McE2S to work on certain SF tubes.

The only reason I bring this up now is in the event that these washers are needed, I would feel bad to read that you just "tossed" a set of expired 123 cells! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sssh.gif

Don:

I for one would gladly PayPal ahead for tailcaps that I want! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Other modders take orders with payment up front, why not you? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif Unless you don't like keeping up a list?

I'm kind-of new to CPF in general and at first ordered a bunch of CR123A's but haven't tossed one yet! SF's come with two, Arc's come with one and I got into Pila's. We recycle our batteries at work and I've seen Surefire's in drop boxes, so I have a source.
