I just put up a review of the Elektro Lumens FT-3C.

Pretty cheap, solidly built, very bright; what's not to like /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif?

I received my FT-3C yesterday. Very impressive! Pure, snow white beam. White than my Surefire L4, but a narrower beam with more distance.

Here is a QUOTE from the review:
"This also means you can expect the LED to run at a bit less than its rated power if you feed the FT-3C three 1.2 volt NiMH or NiCd rechargeables. If they're absolutely fresh from the charger they'll deliver a bit more voltage for a little while, but probably still won't push harder than fresh alkalines except for the first few seconds."

Isn't this contradictory to everything i've read about the FT-3C???

I always thought that the NIMH batteries would make the FT-3C BRIGHTER... ( due to the lower internal resistance...)

Can someone enlighten us??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

In my experience with my FT3C, amps pulled from the battery are higher than alkalines, and stay at a high level while alkalines start dropping off fairly fast. No contest, NiMH's win hands down. This I observe with my Tri-Star also, and my Blaster III with lux III.
