You're right about impact resistance of the Lexan vs. Pyrex. My biggest issue was that I run the P61 LA in pretty much all my G2's and G2Z's, and I've heard that the Lexan can melt/distort, but never actually heard of this happening.
it can melt if you turn on the light and set it down bezel first on an insulating surface...never seen it happen to any of my surefires, but i have seen pictures of it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
