G2L and Rechargables

Do we know yet if the G2L is safe to run on rechargables, either 2 rcr123 or a single 17670? Both configurations fit in my G2L with the 17670 being a very snug fit.

I have been using a G2L with 2xCR123s (protected AW cells) with good results. I don't know what the runtime is, as I am still on my first charge.

I run AW protected 17670s in my 6PL without any modifications to the battery tube.

the 6PL and the G2L are dimensionally identical inside.
