Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to the forums but not to flashlights. I'm about to purchase an A2 and was also considering a G2L or Fenix L2D premium. I currently have a 6P with both bulb options and a Fenix P1D-CE. Im debating if its worth it to get the G2L or if a fenix AA light would be better.

What are some of the opinions on these two lights are is it wrong to even compare them?

:welcome:

Both lights are great lights. It depends on what you are looking for your next light to do for you.

G2L: Long 12 hour runtime on primarys. Polymer makes it better against impacts. Plastic lense makes it less shatter proof. Bright 90 lumens

L2D: AA common batteries. Multiple modes to conserve battery power offer lower light option. Very bright 175 lumens

They are both around the same price range.
Both great lights.

What are you going to use the light for? The two you mention are fairly different in performance, design, and purpose.

Keep in mind the G2L will drop down from max output to around 65 lumens when it gets too warm due to the thermal management, since it's a plastic light.

Still plenty of light for most tasks.

Fenix will be brighter, the 175 lumens stated above would be emitter lumens, more like 120-130 lumens out the front at best, but you don't have to worry about a drop in lumens when you need them from the Fenix.

I really dont know why i want either...im just addicted to these things  and since i cant afford both i was just looking for opinions. I like surefire lights, but the Fenix would be my first "good" light that would be AA batteries rather than the C-123's.

I'd say go with the L2D-Rebel 100. + 8% off coupon "CPF8" the L2D-Rebel 100 is $57.50 at Fenix Store.

Fenix have been known for their efficient drivers.

Other options? Have you thought about 18650 3.7v lithium rechargeable powered lights?

:welcome:
