A couple months ago Gander had a sale and I was in search for my FIRST tactical light. I didn't want to break the bank and I wanted something that is BLINDING. Gander Mountain has a line of tactical lights and the sale was too good to pass up. This normally 70 dollar flashlight was listed at 39.99 and I had to jump on it. The only other bright light I have in my possession is a clip on 60 lumen flood light I use for working in attics/crawls/basements...that and the 10 year old 4D Maglight.
I opened up the package immediately and really like the ergos of it. Its comfortable in the hand and the middle tube has a nice texture for a firm grip. Both ends of the lights have a rim that makes the light usable as a striking weapon also. The only thing I don't like is buying the expensive CR123 batteries. The function of the light is not hard to use either. On click for high. Two clicks for low. And three clicks for strobe. The strobe is nice and bright and definitely blinding. My friends could not tell that I closed in from 20 feet to 5 feet at all.
The only thing that keeps this light from EDC is the cost of batteries. So off to search for a AA/AAA EDC light. All in all this is a great light and I plan to keep it for camping/fishing/hunting use. But for EDC I'm looking for a simple on/off with 100-150 lumen output that uses AA or AAAs.
Anyone else have this GSX 350 lumen tactical light from Gander? Its on sale again but for 50 dollars. I'm glad I bought it at 40 dollars when I did.
