Enlightened
I have been lucky enough to borrow this little beauty from Ganp, it was sent to me without asking
I wanted to do a small review of the light, if you have suggestions please add them here.
The light:-
It is all made by Ganp (Colin),
1 x 18500 tube in Type II grey annodise
1 x twisty(with momentary) tailcap in Type II grey annodise, again made by Colin, internals and all
1 x HA natural Ganp head, housing a 2 degree Carclo collimator
1 x custom LE Wiz2 930mA using an Edixeon LED
This is my first use of a light using an optic, I was expecting good throw with no sidespill as I have seen with some XR-E applications. I was pleasantly surprised with the light having a useful spill and a nice warm tint.
The only opposition I had when I first tested it was a 2D maglite running a Seoul P4 @ 750 mA, when you look at the size difference 4" Vs 10" nevermind the weight it looks like game over but it puts up a good fight. I think if this got a Seoul P4 or a Cree at 5-700 mA this would be scorching.
The beam has a strong hotspot with a weaker, but wide spill, although this is more useful than the maglite (standard reflector) on tightest focus. I found I liked the tint outside much more than the maglite which is a W0 tint as it was warmer giving better colour rendition.
Design, I love the cut-outs in the back of the head they give it a lighter look to break up what would just be a big disc. The body has a slight collar towards the tailcap which if careful allows a 'cigar' type grip. The twisty is silky smooth in action and also allows momentary through pressing the centre. The tailcap also allows tailstanding though the balance is close as the head is wide compared to the base(also I don't want to ding Colins light ).
I will try my best to add some beamshots tonight as I really should return this to Colin ASAP :naughty:
here is some eye candy, with my recent addition as scale and for show off purposes
See Colins hard work bringing this to life...

Below are a couple of beamshots I took last night, I see I should have set the exposure a little longer though they give you a feel for them. They are first the McGizmo XR-19 PD (Cree XR-E driven at 525mA), Maglite 2D Seoul P4 W0 driven at 750mA and the Ganp light an Edixeon LED driven at ~930mA:-
