I'm wondering if extreme heat, say 800ish degrees will do anything to glow in the dark powder. Will it melt, stop to glow or release anything toxic? Thanks in advance.

www.glowinc.com specify a few of their glow powders for up to 1100°C. they say as long as it doesn't melt it's okay.

do you mean 800° C or F ? i assume that if the powder is exposed to such heat over longer periods it will most likely degrade faster. like everything else exposed to light and heat it degrades, but normally that's in the range of years.

i noticed that if it's heated, it doesn't really charge up. when you cool it down again, everything's back to normal.

Doc,

You are right about all of your answers. Also, the temperature tolerance depends on the product. Ultra Green and Ultra Blue are the toughest for high temp applications. Products like Daytime Orange actually break down at about 200F.

On another topic, I have been put in charge of creating an online newsletter for Glow Inc. I would suggest if you have any interest in glow powder or glow paint that you should subscribe. We only send out an email once per month and we do not sell or distribute your information.
