Imagine if you could waterproof it properly, how many amps you could throw through a Seoul without it getting damaged. Seoul at 10 Amps, good for a couple of thousand lumens I guess.

No, at 10 A continuous, you will for sure toast the bound wires IF the LED die will hold up at all, which I doubt.

gallagho, thanks for the link. Looked like fun, with room for innovation. Umm, isn't the water "bad" for the LED/wires?

What I really liked, is instructables.com. Some pretty interesting ideas, including "LED Throwies," and a "Tic-Tac" rechargeable LED flashlight. Skimmed through a few ideas, and my favorite is the "invisible" bookshelf--very "novel" (pun intended).
