glueing an led

what is the best glue to pot up an led to make it water proof.
Ie what sticks to the plastic best epoxy ?

im a diver I want to take this underwater while diving

If you want to waterproof just the LED Driver you can put the driver in a plastic potting box and then use Potting epoxy. here is one inexpensive example of potting epoxy http://www.ebay.com/itm/MG-Chemical...583?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c8c4de5f

Well if you are gluing to an enclosure of sorts you probably want to use some sort of thermal epoxy to transfer heat. Something like arctic silver adhesive. But for diving if you are actually trying to seal up the light you are going to have issues because of the pressure differential will cause any sealant to go.

Assuming you need a really good seal. I can tell you that I assuming that the LED Lens are made of poly-carbonate or something very similar.
Depending on depth epoxy may work for shallow depth. But I can tell you that NOTHING not even epoxy made for plastics actually adheres to acrylic or polycarbonate type plastics.

Superglue is the only thing that will actually adhere to acrylic or poly-carbonate and seal.Just It may leave a white residue it will cast while drying but the residue its self wipes off areas that you did not glue. It is also is non conductive electrically. Loctite makes a rubber modified superglue that is a gel called control gel ultra in a black and blue bottle.

For sealing a combination superglue on the top of the LED and epoxy for surrounding areas may make things a little cheaper and easier.

Hope that helps. Just don't let anyone tell you they make an epoxy that actually adheres well to acrylic and polycarb. I've tried everything. You can actually make a fish tank out of acrylic/poly and use superglue ..you absolutely cannot do that with epoxy of any kind. I've tried them all.
