good light to read a book?

I searched but can't find recommendations for non-flashaholics that would allow a friend of mine to read a book in bed. Can't be a headlamp and can't be a light/attachment combo. Needs to be something she can just clip onto a book and read the page in the dark. Anything out there that someone could recommend?

They sell LED book lights that clip to the book, exactly as you describe. Barnes and Noble for example has some.

There's no one ideal book light, unfortunately; the battery-powered versions all take button cells and burn through them in a matter of hours, and the A/C models of course have a silly wire to contend with. It'd be nice if somebody used a tiny lithium pack like from an iPod Nano and then just included a charger base..

I'd check out mighty bright or fulcrum brands. They seem to get fair reviews and have several models some that run on AAA. I don't own one however. I see them on amazon for $11-20 depending on model. Good luck with your search

I find them annoying, as most specific book reading lights are an ugly harsh light that bothers me after a while. I'd go with a headlamp or combo like a zebra H51, H502, or H31. You can wear it as a headlight, you can dangle from a neck chain, whatever. Of if a clip on it, can clip to a ball cap.

My wife uses a black diamond zenith with a nice p4 in it.

The Zebralight H502d headlamp is my preferred reading light at home but I would not use it outside while commuting or at the office. In that case the best book light I found was the one by Belkin which runs off 3 AAA batteries (I use eneloops) and has specifically got warmer/neutral LEDs so the lighting is gentle.

Track down a flashlight company that carries Cliplite Pro or something similar,looks a good book light to me,sorry not allowed to give links but took me less than a minute on a google search.
