First the Bad news. After one week, there is a small scratch in the bezel of my brand new surefire e2d LED defender! must have happened when I put it in my girl friend's purse. :-(

The good news is my V91 quick detach holster came in for it!

ah, first scratch is always the worst.

it'll get better. I think scratches add character.

Good news - you no longer have to baby it to keep it "perfect."

Bad news - The spirit of the light will try to demand you use it harder now...and it's more durable than you are.

I think you should edit your post.

"There is a scratch on my E2DL bezel because I......"

A: Was wrestling a lion and he got a bite on it.
B: Was climbing a mountain and it fell from my pocket.
C: Was using it to hack through drywall to save a kid from a fire.

Susbtitute any of the above :)

Do it now, quickly, and I won't tell anyone what really happened :sssh:

A. (His GF keeps a lion in her purse.):ironic:

Anyway, regardless of how it happened, the light still works fine, right? Unless you plan to sell it :faint:, a few scratches and scuffs don't hurt.

QUICK, scratch it up some more to hide the original scratch.

The light should enter its second phase, abuse it now. Give it a worn look. And tell your friends it's been through many wars.

Sorry to hear about your first scratch, but it was bound to happen. How do you like the E2DL? I am thinking hard about buying one.

Great!, your SF is officially broken in. It's not that bad is it?

Just wait until that first DROP comes. Now that hurts, but have no fear it'll still work, just like the first day you unwrapped it.

yaaarrr....

no seriously, the reason why I have a few Surefires around is because I know they can be dropped on a regular basis and get all banged up, and still work like new.

Some people have dozens of cheaper lights for show and tell, I have somescratched up Surefires to use. To each his own.

The E2DL and E2B are some of the best lights for the buck. Just remember that they are just lights, regardless of what the catalog says.....

lol, you guys are right it is a tool to be used and not babied. Oh well, it was bound to happen. It works great though! I made the mistake of shining it in a mirror on high power a couple of times! I'll try to post pictures later.

I don't need to worry about corrosion do I?
