Got a question

I got hold of Arc leds with the board attached. I tried hooking it to 1.5v [AAA, AA, & a D], but it doesn't light up. Then I took the head off of my edc and tried touching the wires to the where the + of the battery touches and the side of the head and nothing happened, but put it on the body and it works. Why is that? Any way to get that spare led working?

My bet is that since the current required to step up 1.5 Volts is so great you need a good solid connection, better than little tiny wires. Compare the surface area in contact with a wire to that in contact with the battery itself.
