Green lens filter advice (Surefire L1)

Hello,

I am a complete newbie, so apologies if this question has been answered before.

I tried doing a search, with no luck.

I recently traded for a Surefire L1 on the British Blades forum, but it was with a green lens. So the light beam is green.

I was just wondering what purpose the green lens serves, or whether I ought to try and get hold of a standard clear or red (night vision) one.

Is anyone able to advise?

i dont think the lens is green its the led emitter. to change the color of the beam it would require you to open up the head and switch emitters.

Or you can just replace the head.

yeah but you cant replace just the head. unless you call surefire and ask to exchange the green head for a white.

yeap, i think you got a L1 WITH a green luxeon emitter.

there is no filter at all.

you can do 2 things, modify the light yourself or buy from fellow cpf members.

the human eye is most sensitive to green colour in the dark (if i am not wrong).
